Further Support in the Implementation of Water Sector Reforms

Modernising water and wastewater services services in North Macedonia by improving utility organisation, financing and operation in line with EU Standards.

Overview

This European Union funded project supports the Republic of North Macedonia in the implementation of national water sector reforms. By reorganising municipal services and introducing fair tariff systems based on "polluter pays" principles, the project ensures better service quality and long-term sustainability for the country's water infrastructure.

The impact

The reform addresses fragmented service provision and high infrastructure losses, helping the utilities meet EU environmental standards and invest in essential maintenance.
